Derailleur hanger repair
« on: March 23, 2003, 06:21:00 am »
Gentlemen, I have had good luck repairing a slightly bent EVO hanger. Place the hanger on a flat hard surface, cover the hanger with a piece of flat steel and hammer it flat. My two bent hanger were saved by this method. It won't work if your hanger is severely tweeked. Dan.

I think this is good advice that will help with most of lifes little problems--if all else fails hit it with a
hammer ;D

I have not managed to bend my Evo hanger yet but managed to extend the life of my old stumpjumper hanger with the aforementioned technique. It eventually snapped and I was able to weld it back together, I think it is stronger than ever now!

I know hangers aren't that hard to get, but that is probably why most of us don't have a spare.
