Girvin Vector Replacement?
« on: September 09, 2004, 04:50:56 pm »
I have an old school proflex world cup design beast with what i believe to be the dreaded 1 inch steerer tube. Any ideas on what i could replace my vector with? I was looking for something with alot more travel possibly around 4 or 5 inches but i am beginning to think thats a dream. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Simon

Don't worry that the vector has a 1" steerer the headset is still an 1 1/8" you can fit any 1 1/8" steerer fork available using your current headset, the vector's steerer has a spacer fitted to allow it run with a 1 1/8" headset, the only extra item you'll require is a suitable sized stem.
as for your choice of fork that petty much depends on your budget but personally I wouldn't exceed 4" of travel on that frame.
