Pic of Ti HammerHead on bike can be seen in my 'gallery'.  It's 30gms lighter, shinier and works the same, and apart from the one on test, the only ONE!

I now have a HammerHead (stainless steeel) for sale complete with fitting kit (drill, tap etc.).  I'm open to offeres - but don't tell Callum or Mike Billett!

mmmmm tasty...you gotta change two of those hex head bolts tho so that all four are the same.....

what model hope are the discs?

Yeah... as Kiwi says... where are the stainless bolts that you got in the kit??  Those suckers will rust.. and will react with the Ti.....

Those were the bolts supplied with the kit!

The smaller black ones have the serrated washers, Iguess Callum ran out of stainless ones.  So if you read this Callum, post me out a couple of stainless ones.

Meantime I'll go search my LBS.

Kiwi, the Hope disc model is 'Mini'.

Why is it so expensive to make,(is it because you are in UK? I heard everything is really Overpriced over there, also you have that VAT tax). I bet if you make it to production line is would cost abou $3-$7 to make, of corse maybe with ot line, it will cost more like $15.

Just some thoughts.

How do you make them? CNC (billet), stamp press, or what ever else?

Just for example I got my stainless steel muffler, real nicely made, no weld seems, high polished for $45 new With life time waranty.
i wouldn't se how is adapter can cost more?

 Nice looking setup! "It's 30gms lighter," Hey, that's an ounce!  Keep counting and your bike will always be more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been.

"i wouldn't se how is adapter can cost more"   lots of engineering thought,  real world testing, plus all these costs, and those I missed, are spread over a relatively (to a muffler) small run of product.

It's not for me to answer, but I do know that Callum (rdi) and Mike Billett (Hammer) are partners in the sale of the K2 / Proflex disc adapters.  From corresponding with them over the Ti ones cut from plate I supplied, I know that they are cut in Scandinavia using a very high pressure water jet to cut the shape from a CNC controlled programme.

This produces a very clean precise cold cut without heat (a la plasma) so there is no distortion.

that was a special method we used for the Titanium HammerHead plates.

The regular stainless alloy ones are made in a different manner. With higher tolerances and even better finish.

As was mentioned peviously... the high costs are driven up there by our own pedanticity for high quality.  Hand dressing and deburring, hand polishing, all spacers are made to exacting tolerances, the fittings, bolts and locking washers come direct from Formula one suppliers. We are talking cutting edge stuff here.  The machine time is expensive, the programs are expensive, the R&D was and still is expensive (and fun).
We make over 20 different HammerHead adapters and whilst some of these sell in great quantities, others are simple one-offs and custom adapters.

If anyone knows a company that can start producing them for me at $3-7 bucks each.... then I'll have a hundred of each type please.  Just give me thier number.

I suppose having them made in thailand... but with 6-9 month pre-order times.. would get the costs down... but we are all interested in qualititties, no quantitties... right?
