Tech Forum / Well, its been a decade
« Last post by Carbon_Kiwi on April 19, 2020, 01:43:59 pm »
So I'm wondering if anyone is still on here from that long ago. I still have my OzM, still love it, still ride it, in fact I'm about to embark on a search for a rear shock upgrade as I'd imagine technology has moved on somewhat - of course whether or not something new & shinny will fit my Oz is another story.
Hope everyone is well, & if there is anyone still here that remembers me - say hi.
Cheers,
Jason

All the best!

On a different subject that car of yours should be finished by now!

It's an old British car, it's never finished you just keep it running. We are still under the "stay at home" order till the end of the month. So I have been adding to the work on the mini. Free time is expensive.

Grim  stuff in the UK,  over 12,000 deaths and many more daily.  Predominantly  the medically compromised and elderly but the odd younger person doesn't pull through  either. Thing is most people now know someone who has had it or has died due to it. The most recent case I know of was of a parent at my boy's school who did not make it,  couldn't have been older than 45-47.
Scary.

So how is it all going guys.We are in just over two weeks into our 4 week lockdown.Things have changed a bit since my last post.1300 odd cases and now 4 deaths. All are eldery with underlying health issues ,but thats not the point.A lot of the cases we are getting now are related to known clusters which are defined as groups of 10 or more related to a place(say a school) or an event(say a wedding).Ourr borders remained closed and Every body coming into the country is now in managed quarantine 4 2 weeks. No exceptions. At the moment the govt is paying for hotel rooms. How are things where you are(and tell us where you are.)

Does anyone have a recommendation for shock oil?   Synthetic vs. conventional, manufacturer, viscosity (cSt).    I am actually rebuilding a NR-1 for a ProFlex 856 rear.

A nice looking car for sure,  pity I can't fit in them though ::) ,  Stay healthy and busy , we all have to be sensible and try and get on with life as best as we can.  I have the joys of fence painting and bleeding the brakes on the bikes to keep me busy. Oh the excitement !!!

here in NZ we have 155 cases no deaths yet.The vast majority of cases are linked to overseas travel. However we have 4 cases that are attributd to "community transfer"The prime minister announced we would be heading for level 3 of 4 ,and 48 later we are ALL to stay home for 4 weeks. All but the most essential businesses are closed.People will be working from home(if they can. That 48 hour notice is tomorrow midnight.
Its ok here i reckon but I am scared for my daughter who lives in Boston

Despite all the insanity out there. Other than dealing with the usual seasonal allergies I am good. I told my wife I am self isolating in the garage for the next several weeks. With my mini needing some maintenance like wheel bearing repack and brake system overhaul I will stay busy.
