Tech Forum / Re: Setting up my old Vector 2 for my son
« Last post by spikebender on November 08, 2020, 04:50:24 am »
I know a while back Noleen made available a NR-1 for Vector 2s thats a strait change out from the original set up. I have Girvin experts with a NR-1 but the dimensions are slightly different than my Vector 2s and I just can't swap them. Saving $$$ to get one to finish of that bike. For me the black spring is to stiff for the front the yellow was to soft I had a NOS yellow elastamere I cut a round wedge piece and put it in the first coil of the yellow spring BAM works sweet. Just like Nascar LOL

Tech Forum / Tube Trouble
« Last post by spikebender on November 03, 2020, 02:37:18 pm »
Hey Group, hope everyone is well. I have to be honest on this one--- out of ALL the bikes I've had my entire life my 757 is the first one I've used Presta valves for my set up. Problem is now (front only) is the stem pulls away from the tube do I need to double nut the stem? I always have the proper pressure and they were quality tubes. This makes twice any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I've seen your other post as well.
I was lucky enough to buy the last of the Hammerheads from Mike Billet and so I've equipped my bikes.
Mike has very kindly provided his engineering drawings on the Facebook Group and possibly on here somewhere...?
I can highly recommend them, especially if you can make them out of the exceptionally high quality Stainless or Titanium that Mike supplied to me.
The only slight worry for some people is the ability to drill and tap one or two holes accurately into your swingarm.
They work faultlessly and are a very elegant engineering solution adding minimal weight and zero "clunkiness" to your bike.
On that matter, the version you have shown in your other thread is nicely made, but strikes me as very "clunky".......
I assume that it relies on sitting on the axle, but I can't work out wether that is inboard or outboard of the swingarm either way it needs extra width on the axle which I just can't see is available?
Then I guess it just rotates until it meets the swing arm material and that is what stops it rotating...?  Hopefully thats on a relatively flat and broad contact point or else all the preesure of braking is on a limited area......
and the same for the front when I would be concernes that it would damage the crossllink leg.
Not meaning to be negative, just what I would think about if I was considering this.

Col.

Is there any interest in Disk Brake Adaptors

Hi Brains Trust

Newbie here.
Thought i would raise this from the grave, as there is now 3D printing capability, which would allow for disk adaptor prototyping.

Is there any interest?

Tech Forum / K2 Razorback 3.0 Noleen pull shock and/or noleen fork wanted.
« Last post by MegaVolt on September 21, 2020, 12:47:07 pm »
Hi guys,

If any of you would be willing to part with a Noleen Mega Air pull shock or fork I would really appreciate that. Just let me know how much you want and what the condition of the fork/shock is.

My K2 Razorback 3.0 is still a beauty all these years but it could use a little help of yours.

The fork: one of my stanchion caps developed a crack. Probably me being an idiot and having overtightened it - a Würth sealant "solved" the problem back then. I bought a torque wrench and don't make such mistakes any more but the problem is still there. Would be nice to get a working fork or a cap. Or a working fork and a cap.

The shock: it started to leak air. I have never serviced it. Just didn't have the courage to fix what ain't broken. I now have so much fear I open it, something goes wrong and I lose my bike.
A backup plan would be nice.

Current location: Germany, Stuttgart 70188.

A hybrid bike, I think?
Probably from after K2 sold off the manufacturing rights in 2005.
So, sorry to say, well past my time frame of interest or knowledge.

Can anyone tell me anything about a K2 escape 24 speed bike? A friend gave it to me, I can’t find any info on this bike
