Tech Forum / Brake Boosters Anyone?
« Last post by spikebender on January 18, 2024, 12:39:27 pm »

Hi Group, I haven't posted in a while I'll keep it short. I scored some new Magura hs 11 for latest build (now complete) But I couldn't find any old school brake boosters anywhere. Sooo I had a couple dozen lazer cut and powder coated that will be for sale on ebay. two colors, Grey and ugly neon yellow. Had to stay with the 90s thing. If anyone is interested email me direct I'll sell um a little cheaper than ebay         Tracy   Tvgambrill@gmail.com

Hi,
Nice to see some activity on here! <SMILE>
Only two sizes, "Standard" and "Long" really, but just to make it interesting there are OEM (Original Equipment Market) and AM (After Market) versions of both.
The variation is down to the ULM used.
Have a look at the "Chubby & Crosslink Installation helper" bmp in the "Files" section on here.

Hi Proflexers!
How many sizes of Noleen carbon crosslinks are there? I thought there are just 2 but I'm no expert.  I have seen a set with a 275mm steerer tube , but will this fit a way large 856 frame? ( Xp8)
Cheers !

Yes, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all PRO~FLEXers!

all of my PRO~FLEX stable has had a rest this year, and not much cycling done overall, but that little has been on my Genesis CDF gravel bike or my Marin Pine Mountain "Pub-Bike"........

... Good intentions to build up an Oz for "proper" MTBing, but we'll have to see..........

Best Wishes to all!

Its that time of year again where we tend to look back over the past years(s) and contemplate that and also what may the future hold.
For me I have retired from my job as a frame and truss detailer.27 years in the same profession .Its time to do the above..
So merry xmas and happy new year to my fellow proflex ers.My 756 sits in my basement with a worn out bottom bracket. Maybe its time to get the thing out and about again!

Nollen is still in business. You can send it in to be re-built or sometimes you can find rebuild kits on ebay

I had finally saved enough play money to get the N1 for the vector II on my 855. I'm not sure the weight rating on the spring Nollen supplied it seems stiff. Weird how a place I can drive to in an hour and a half took over three months to get my shock to me >:(. I'll stop at that. I might change the spring of my 757 and try it. it seems more forgiving.

I replaced the Elastomers on the ODS's on my XP-X (856) with SpeedSpring Coils within a few months of buying it new in 1997 and never regretted it.
I then subsequently replaced the rear ODS with a Noleen NR-2 and that was even better.
I used Titanium coils and they didn't weigh much more than the elastomers!

Oooh, I've just realised that that makes my XP-X 25 years old this year!

The problem is the ealstomers are no longer avaiable and havent been for a long time. They all deterioted to the point they were completely unuseable.
