Title: Evo with Rear Pearl Shock
Post by: Thunderchild on November 10, 2008, 09:52:01 pm: Anyone have any experience or eard of anything about the Rock Shox Pearl Rear shock. The mtbr.com rating is 4.5. See the images below. Dosen't look like the frame was modified.

But I think it might be an older shock? (not currently listed on website....) but the others also look good.

There is only NEED where bikes are concerned! <GRIN>

Post by: Thunderchild on December 17, 2008, 09:44:29 pm: No, IMO, I do not doubt you, but I still had to try and put the Pearl on my Oz. It came really close. When I removed it from the Evo, I found that the previous owner had modified, not the frame, but the shock. A little bit was grounded off. It doesn't affect the shock at all, and it fits the Evo. Maybe I can remove a bit more, then a bit more and a bit more........

Post by: shovelon on December 19, 2008, 08:23:14 am: I ground a flat onto my Swinger where it contacted the rib/seam on the downtube of my Oz. Needed about 1/16 inch. No problems.
