wonder if it came with those springs from new, they are the ones that where fitted to the later x56 bikes and it has the GDT shock on the rear

Looks good nick, alright, despite whatever changes, but the start price is way too optimistic.................plus £90 p&p!!

Yep, looks stunningly good condition, but I only paid £750 for mine in an unridden condition in '98 !

Towards the middle of '98, UltraSportUK offered the XP-x bikes with coil spring conversions from MCU's as new. PRO~FLEX were not keen on doing this on the rear ODS 'cos they reckoned it "topped out" too quickly and could damage it, so they substituted a GDT instead as it was supposed to be a more advanced shock designed to be used with a coil spring.

Needless to say I've never had an issue with my coil spring converted ODS's on my XP-X even though I do occasionally hear a top-out "knock" on the rear.

As New Price in '98: £1349

Too pricey at £500, but hey, it's worth a punt, he might be lucky!

Just when you think you've seen every thing!! Maybe he did pay £3000 for it , he probably got his dodgy scales for weighing the bike from the same source

mind you the tyres may be simply filled with hot air.......theres seems to be plenty of it going spare

Now this is a proper item worth bidding on! Remember this model climbs like a billy goat! Strip it and add a few choice parts and you have a sub 11kg bike for peanuts.

Do you have a link to where I can buy these choice parts for peanuts ?

My guess is it would end up costing about the same as the xpx by the time you'd finished.

;D i,ve rebuilt 3 bikes using 90 per cent parts from that trusty site ! the other 10 per cent of bits were obtained in sales. The downside is unpredictably of availablity parts but i've nothing but patience! certainly not cash. look at what i've found now:

x57 would be ok if you live near Durham , will probably go cheap being pick up only.

What sort of shock do these LOOK/Fournales forks use? Do they have a shelf life? Is it still availiable or even rebuildable? I mean if you did buy this whats the chances of the shock being in good working order and the seals not being perished or leaking?
