Is your rear suspension a stock setup? My first Proflex was a 754 and now that I think about it I don't know that I've ever seen a 954, but that setup looks a lot different from what I'd expect...

Its pretty much as it come from the factory , obviously a few mods , wear etc , I think they just seem to be quite rare , never ever seen another , but know 1 other from this forum .

Finally got off my butt to upload these...

It is pretty much how my bike is currently, but I put on my Titec Pluto saddle back on. It was in NOS condition with all original components but when the bike arrived, the package was open and missing a bunch of stuff, so I then proceeded to do some weight weenish replacements.

And It has some fresh scrapes and chips from xc/all mountain riding over here in Kelowna British Columbia, Canada. I am also ditching the tires as well.... the stock tires suck in the dry here.

Yes, I am a bit of a weight weenies (although I do look at cost effectiveness), so a alien carbon fits well. The stem, seat, seatpost, barends all fell out of the bike box so I had an excuse to upgrade

The Alien Carbons are regularly going as low as 30 USD (mine included) used on US ebay, especially the ones with short lengths, which works great for us proflex owners

Here's a photo a took tonight after my ride: Stuff is much more dialed to my liking and fit.

My 2001 K2 Attack 4.0

Shimano LX drivetrain, X-fusion O2-RC shock, Rockshox Psylo fork. The X-fusion shock has a longer stroke than the OE noleen sport adjust so the rear travel is about 5". With the 120mm Psylo it rides great on the rocky stuff here in the northeast USA. No problems keeping up with my buddies fancy Specialized FSRs...

My main ride nowadays is an Orange 5 - the sort of bike that K2/proflex should have become - single pivot, enduro machine. it weighs about 28lbs or so and has a durable, well sort of, XT setup all round.

pub, shopping and generally scooting round town. Used to use when I lived in London for the daily commute through the city streets, capable - Sram 9 carbon and some really powerful (but totally useless because they rub all the time) Formula ORO disk brakes

still being built up for the UK singlespeed champs - the push shock is totally knackered and I'm waiting for noleen J6 to send spare parts. The race is 2 weeks today so I hope they arrive in time. The bike weighs sub 25lbs, if the shock gets fixed, I'm thinking of adding some ultra pimpy Crank bros Cobalt wheels to this bike. If the don't come in time, I have an Oz frame kicking around that I will use these parts on.

of course, one of my favourite bikes - the pub/plane/car/train friendly foldup brompton

next bike to add to the collection?
