Have CVI gone bust, need Risse repair
« on: March 26, 2006, 03:56:42 am »
Can anyone shed any light on what has happened to CVI. I have emailed twice no reply. Phoned a few times, the first time the answer machine, mentioned something about they were to busy to answer the phone. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for replies. The phone seems to ring as per normal ring tone but then goes onto a single peep noise every 15-20 seconds, is this where I am supposed to hang on?
Could anyone supply their address I cannot see it on their website
thanks

I read here just a short time ago that CVI closed it's doors.

Don't know why, but life goes on.

I have been in contact with Kevin at Risse. I bought a genesis for the crosslinks and just sent it  back to have the damping reset. All in order, but it makes me wonder about the health of Risse, as thier product line is very dated.

Hi Shovelon
Thanks for info, does that potentially mean sending to Risse USA for further service type work.

There is another place in the UK that does service on shocks. I think it is PUSH industries. They do an inertia valve upgrade on fox shocks. Maybe a phone call to them may yield a source for shock rebuilding.

There has to be someone there that is a general shock rebuild house.

Now I understand that Risse makes motorcycle shocks. Perhaps there is a motorsport house that handles Risse products, and does service. Go to the Risse web page and look for info.

I will help wherever I can, let me know.

It was Callum at RDI that learned the Dave at CVI had closed his bussiness.

Email Callum to see what he can do.

PUSHed industries is a U.S company
PUSHed work in the UK is carried out by TFtuning
http://www.tftunedshox.com/
Tim Flooks is very helpfull so maybe contacting them
will be of some help.

Simon.

P.s there is also MOJO but I think they are only
interested in Fox suspension.

Thanks for info, I might try Tim but his website says it only covers listed manufactuers, unfortunately Risse is not mentioned.

Anyone know if there is anyone else in the UK that can service noleen or get springs etc, as CVI used to be the agent (also the agent for k2/proflex bushes etc)

Are there any other makes of shock that will bolt directly onto a proflex beast 97 as the current noleen may need a heavier spring for my lardy arse. May get away without a service as although hasnt been used in years had very little use and still seems fairly smooth.

Maybe someone with enginering skills on here could start doing shock adaptor brackets (so can take normal eyelet shocks) and bushes for the swingarm etc??? just an idea

PS

Do you think CVI may still have old stock to get rid of at a bargain price?

Dated? So are our bikes. We're lucky that anyone still makes parts for them. I spoke with someone at Risse a couple of days ago about a reassembly question on my Astro 5 and he was very helpful.
