I can make out that it is indeed a '97. As a 20" does it say WayBig on the seat stay just below the toptube? Is the Effective top tube length 24". That would confirm it is a WayBig.

For estimates on value I would say maybe 200 BP?

Large is the most common and the most traded. The best way to measure the frame is effective top tube. Horizontally from center of seatmast to center of headtube. A size large is 23". A size Waybig(or Xlarge would be 24"+).

I phoned the guy about it , he said it should cost less than $40 to repair at a bike shop. Yeah, right. I offered $200 but no deal.

You could use a 1 1/8 stem with a shim. That would increase your options immensly.

I have a K2 Evo 3.0 frame set for sale. Looking for $350. My preference is to sell to someone that really knows/appreciates the legacy. The frame set is rigged out as follows:

Do you know what the model of that stem is ?

I had a look on flea bay and cant find that type

I really like the look of it with the two separte ends as I could have the middle powder coated to match the frame
