Thanks Doug. Unfortunately over the years I have sold off all the original components. The rear Risse was 300 and the front was 200. The wheels were over 500. I was told I would be better off if I sold the bike in pieces but I would hate to do that. Its a great bike and I would rather see someone ride it the way it is. I was thinking in the 800.00 ballpark?

As DugB says you will get more by splitting, but if that's not for you then Ebay's probably your best bet. Perhaps put a reserve on it for the minimum you'd accept and see what happens, but sadly (or happily if you're a buyer!) Proflex don't fetch huge sums, even with good kit...

Hmmm...if you find the right person then you might get your price...I didn't see the wheelset, but know how much the shocks are worth...and I just bought some Thomson pieces for my bike, so I'm all too familiar for what one will pay for the awesomeness of parts machined from a single billet :-P :-P

I hate to say it, but IMO there's nothing that loses value more than a wheelset. I just picked up a set of really nice XTR wheels - excellent M950 hubs with Mavic black ceramic rims with DT double butted spokes for a song...I think the set cost me $130 and they're smooth as butter. Probably cost the original buyer $500-600 when new. You might have to take a hit on the wheels.

The eBay auction with set starting price or reserve is a good idea...you have nothing to lose. If you do try to sell the whole thing at once make sure you highlight the value, cost and benefits of the upgraded parts, and include many detailed, sharp pics.

Alternately, you could offer trades to members of this forum for our less costy, original components (plus cash). ;-) I'd be first in line to give up my coil-over ODS's and trade up to those Risse's, hehehe

Ah yes, thanks...I definitely have the long Crosslink...that's what I'd like the carbon legs for. These would be the ones from the 21.5" (Way Big) K2 5000...anyone have a set? Still bummed I missed that K2 5000 on craigslist a few days ago...$200 is a steal!

Rode the 856 I built up from a disassembled frame purchased on craigslist for $50 18 miles to work this morning. It's a competent commuter bike with 1.5" slicks and an 11-28 rear cassette. Man I love these bikes :-)

Hi I'm rebuilding my Proflex Beast and I'm in need of a few parts

the bike is a 1997 Proflex Beast GDT, the one with chrome Girvins,yellow coil springs and ODS shocks front and rear
spec as per this link
