Hi lads new to the site picked up an old proflex attack le for €40 needing the rear suspension fixed.
after taking a small look at this site I wouldnt really class this as a profex.it must be the entry level model.i think its a 1996 bike how do I tell what year it is? I purchased the rear suspension bits in the state
so Id say it will take 2 week to get here in ireland.

Attack LE
Attack is the frame style LE is the spec
Lots of sticker/decal changes done when new
and after

Model ID
First number group set the higher the number
ie 9 XTR
   8 XT
And so on downwards

Last number approx the model year
ie 0 1990
To 7 1997

What's the import duties situation if you're in Eire?

Yes! Of course it's a "proper" PRO~FLEX ! We're not snobby on here, there's just various designs that crept down the model range as newer designs came out.

The Attack name was used to cover a few designs over the years, the pivot point is the decider.
If it's an "LE" then it is probably a '96 and then the pivot is directly behind the Bottom Bracket and it's using design technology similar to the the old Arcadia and Newport bikes.

colin: i live in Dublin Ireland. (Eire) as for taxes or duty 99% of posted item slip through the net.
the bike you posted the link to is an exact model and colour.

when the bike is finished what type of money is it worth? I know its only worth what someone is
willing to spend but in terms of value for money am I doing ok.

Well, I don't think any of us are going to become rich over our bikes.............<GRIN> but starting with a £40 frame and assuming at least some of the components are OK, I'd imagine you'd have a good roadworthy bike for less than a couple of hundred quid, so that beats most "bargain bikes" shops offerings and you'd be riding a quality made bike, but wether it would ever sell for that.........dunno.
