MB Action article...gone and forgotten
« on: September 05, 2008, 11:23:51 am »
I received no response from MBA regarding their erroneous article about the Oz and yeah it is still bothering me.  So, I contacted Dirt Rag to see if they would like to do a more correct article.  They will accept an article for review and possible publication.  I am not the best writer, so I thought I would offer it to the group.  They would like from 300 to 500 words.  I asked if we could use MB Actions name and they said, "sure."  I thought it would be appropriate to showcase the bikes versatility, ability to have new technology added (disc brakes), ease of fixing a broken seat tube insert that I recently went through...etc.  Any takers?  Maybe a group effort would be appropriate?  Once ready to send; I have the editor contact information.  I also thought about doing nothing at all to keep the ebay listing prices low.  ;D

GREAT IDEA but best of luck, if they had a retro section or column that would be the place for it. i haven't picked up a bike mag in quite awhile.

they want NEW stuff to showcase, even if it isn't improved.

i agree with the `not improved` part C/A ive got a vpp design bike as well as the oz and while it rides great and is like a magic carpet over rough stuff theres no way it can climb better than my old xpx, plus now that ive fitted a 4way to the oz its every bit as plush as the vpp but there again it cannot match the xpx on a climb, to me the old strut bikes are the best climbing bikes thats ever been made.

$3999 in '98 seems cheap for cutting edge technology. For that matter, I am seeing $8 and $9k for some bikes selling now, 10 years later. Only a handful had delamination issues, and only a catastrophic crash could crack the carbon.

Ah, so that is why 5500 frames and bikes are selling like ti bikes.

thunderchild whats the email addy for MBA? as a uk oz rider i feel that its time we carbon riders spoke up from around the globe! i feel bloody insulted by that article. they want to try riding an oz with modern technologies such as discs and shocks and not just dismiss them with the original equipment.

I found the email address to MBA. It is mbaction@hi-torque.com

Don't hesitate to add a picture, as they will print it with your blurb if they pick it.

I used that email and I also submitted via Ask RC.  I sent pictures (my Oz at Moab, April 2008, etc.) and references and links to this site, etc.  I received no response.
