Thanks to carbonangus ;DI have (along with my son) a pair of Mega-air VTO forks,I didn't think the white sliders would match my bike running with a gold s/arm, :-[
so I stripped out the sliders and removed the wiper seals, then I stripped off all the origional paint, prepared the sliders then re primed and painted the sliders,
really pleased with the outcome, had some decals made at work (only found out the other day they can make decals, only basic one's mind),fitted those,
as I prefered the new colour on the forks I had to re do the s/arm to match, [smiley=blankstare.gif]
what do you think ??? [smiley=beer.gif]

Forgot to mention while I was at it I weighed the Mega-air's against the Sid SL's I was running, both where weighed against each other with the canti bosses removed and the steerer tubes cut to the same lenght, the Mega-air's had there VTO spacers removed,I found them both to be sub 3lb but suprisingly the Mega-air's where fractionly lighter, pretty good considering the Mega-air's are 100mm travel with 32mm stanchions and Sid SL's are reputed to be one of if not the lightest (bar the carbon Sid) forks you can buy,the Sid's weighed in at 2lb's 13Oz and the Mega-air's at 2lb's 12Oz,I only used some kithen scales but they give a reasonable comparison. that looks tough !
I am putting a Z1 sl [air/130mm with ecc] on my Evo when I'm done work today. It is a nice matte silver finish and I have been thinking of putting the swingarm in the same colour, hope it looks that good when I'm done.

carbonangus,Yep thats an Astro5,
Like Dennis mentioned I did consider gold headset, seat clamp etc,
But I have a liking for red and like the contrasting colours, just a personal thing. [smiley=beer.gif]
I am starting to run out of ideas now,I don't think there's anything I haven't changed/modified [smiley=laughing.gif]

Wow that gold rear swing are looks great, is it much heavier than the carbon one? if not where can I get one?

colinv,
the carbon vs aluminum swingarms are more or less the same wt, I got an aluminum one from K2 via a LBS. K2 has pretty good customer service, try emailing them.

Once I'd machined off the canti mountings there was no wieght difference against the carbon arm with its canti pivots removed, however don't expect a straight forward fit onto a carbon main frame, the forward portion of the al s/arm is to narrow, some machining and welding was required, check out my gallery for pic's

Cheers for the info, think I will stick with my carbon one, gonna look into getting it painted, lads at work should be able to do it.
