Hi, I'm currently thinking of buying an old '98 Proflex 3000 frame. The frame is 21inch and I'm about 5' 10''. Is this frame too big for me? Also, if anyone has ridden the Proflex 3000 before can I get some feedback? Thanks.

Yes, the 21 inch (way big) frame is too big for you. Probably okay if you only ride on the road, but for any technical riding, you'd be better off with a large or even a medium.

I am wif matno..I have a way big and i am 6'3" with a long trunk....sometimes it feels a bit big to me!!!!
FYI a large is an 18 and a med is 16 and a small is 14.The way big is actually a 20.The 3000 is the same as the 857 so it is an xc bike.I reckon if you are after a f/s bike that you can build into a light quick handling bike it will seve admirably..keep lookin a med or large are much more common....as i say if you find a 857 or a 957 in good shape they are the same bike.

[smiley=disbelief.gif]matno and kiwi are right. my best friend, who primarily rides road, has a '98 3000. he's 5'10" and his is a medium. he tried a large and didn't like it. so i think that a way-big (21) is way out of the question.
but make sure that is the right frame size.

I should have mentioned that my brother in law who is 5'10" has a way big attack, and it is way TOO big for him. It really puts him in a stretched out position that looks awkwardly high. I've ridden it, and it scares me (I'm afraid of heights).
