the good is K2 customer service, they have impressed me once again. [smiley=nod.gif]
the bad is the fact that they have run out of pivot kits for my evo [smiley=disbelief.gif]
the ugly is the amount of play in my pivot and the fact that I am dying to jump my bike off a new wall drop that we just found. [smiley=upset.gif]
I think it is the bearings that are fcuked, has anyone tried getting bearings from a bearing shop, or does anyone know if it is likely to work? It wouldn't surprise me if the bearing type/size is not used in anything else in the universe as bike/car manufacturers don't like to make life easy for us.

Most if not all bearings have a code number stamped some where, mostly on the rim of the inner race, give this number to a bearing supplier and they should be able to supply, alternativly measure with a micrometer or vernier the O/D I/D and the width and along with the bearing type eg roller/ needle, sealed/open etc this would be enough info for a supplier, easier still take the bearing to the supplier they should have no problem locating a match,I'm assuming your bike s/arm pivots on bearings not bushes??

Simon, I haven't actually pulled out yet but it is supposed to be needle bearings. My town, Ocho Rios, not very well equipped generally, unless you want drugs, prostitutes or toyota corolla parts, BUT we do have a good bearing shop so I live in hope.

did k2 say nada no more on the pivots kits or just need to order another batch?
i remember having a problem like this with der. hangers awhile back. hopefully they will have some to ship in a week or two.
20-20 advice (and meant for all of us out here) but it's always a good idea to get a few spares of the parts like a pivot kit, bushings, o~rings wahtever that make these bikes unique.
damn I know what you are going through :(

I would pull it apart and inspect everthing before you start ordering parts. It uses collars, thrust bearings (similar to a plastic flat washer) and needle bearings.

Carbon,
They have run out but are making more so should be in stock in a week or three, I did order a hanger while I was on the phone so those are definately back in stock.
