Title: Fine tuning Bomber Z 3.5
Post by: Frogmorephoto on April 19, 2004, 09:31:17 pm
Has any one any tips for fine tuning the Marzocchi Z 3.5's on my Beast?

What is the best way to balance preload?

Colin.

marzocchi has a pretty good site with tuning info so you should check it out. I think they recommend preload should be set to give approx 20% sag, so measure your travel and sag using zip ties and you can add or reduce preload. Remember to adjust both sides equally. Also check oil levels/wt against the recommendations on the site. It seems to me that oil levels make a lot of difference in Marzocchi forks. Generally you should aim to get full travel (when you need it!) and not bottom out too often+ without having to wind on all your preload. I love my zokie but initially it felt too soft even with correct spring/oil, but I have come to realise that this is just the famous cushiness.
