Howdy,
I have an old proflex Beast(Pre K2) and I need to do something about my suspension. It has the old elastomers on it, which are now slighty more shock absorbent than concrete. I have a couple of the old K2 Smart shocks that have never been used, so I tried to use their springs to replace the elastomers. Of course the springs were just slightly to large. The front fork is the Girven crosslink style, and both front and rear shocks are Girven oil dampened. I am just starting to ride again and I am looking for a relatively cheap fix. I did some research and found that Mountain Springs used to make some replacement springs, but I can't find any. The bike is the old World Cup Design model. Any suggestions on how I could return my bike to "Full suspension" status?

While your trying to get some suitable springs try warming your current elastomers in some hot water for around a minute,this will give you back some springiness,only a temp fix but better that than the concrete one's.

Ps you can't just fit springs to your current setup(like the smart shock one's)as the speed springs come as a kit with suitable aluminium spring mounts,doubt the current elastomer mounts would be upto the job of retaining a coil spring.
