Title: 856 rear shock
Post by: Shortline on April 10, 2004, 10:51:58 am
Hey guys: Just discovered your site!

Maybe you have some advice for me:

I have a 1996 856 and need to replace not only the entire rear shock but a missing piece that would connect between the seatstay and the new shock...

I think I definitely have identified the Risse aftermarket shock that would work, but does anyone have a source for replacement frame parts? This piece I need, which I probably lost in the crash during which my original shock was ruined, would connect with the seat stay. Or perhaps I am going to have to mill one, like Deano did! (wow)

Any advice you have would be appreciated: wish I could post a picture, but can't do that....

Hi there.  A Risse shock will mount directly to your strut.  You will not need any other Proflex pieces.  If you have an 856 strut, you will need Risse's  "Freedom Plate Adapter".  Have a look in my gallery to see which strut you have.

Bill Larson is the best guy to deal with to get Risse shocks.

np   [smiley=laughing.gif]  Happy to help.  Keep your 856 no matter what.  I hope to have mine to about 21 lbs shortly.   ;D
