Post by: Phillip on April 09, 2004, 03:05:25 am
What is the difference between front and rear V brakes?

Generally speaking, one is in the front and one is in the rear...

Actually, on some older frames, the cable routing for the rear brake was around the right side. I believe this is why V-brakes used to be front/rear specific. Most frames that I know of now use the same exact brake arms front and rear. The only difference is that you have to pay attention to which way the brake pads are facing. Chances are that you'll have to turn them around (i.e. switch sides) on one or the other if you get two identical sets. Not a big deal.

I just figured out the difference. The cables attach from opposite sides! Duh!!!  [smiley=diaper.gif]
