Title: Noleen NR-2 rear shock orientation
Post by: TenBrink on April 05, 2004, 01:38:11 am
Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if the orientation for a NR-2 is critical?  Or in simpler terms.....does the remote reservoir have to be up or down to actually work as it should?

Any input would be great.

Andy

It doesn't matter...either way will work as long as it fits for clearance.

??? ???first, a nr-2 doesn't have a remote reservoir. only the nr-4 does. second, what bike is it on? if it's on a 4000, 5000 or a carbon, it doesn't matter. the only thing is if the shock is upside down, you may get dirt down the seal.

I'm no expert but I think you want the heaviest part of the shock (the main shock body and reservoir) attached to the sprung mass of the bike.

You want to keep the unsuspended mass of the bike (wheels, rear end of swing arm, lower fork legs etc.) as light as possible.

This is of course provisional on there being sufficient frame clearance to fit the shock this way!
