Somehow I broke the "eccentric axle rod" on my Girvin Vector 2 fork - on a Proflex 856. K2 says this part is no longer available. Would anyone have a spare, perhaps from an old fork, that they'd be willing to sell? It's part no. 14677 - the pivot axle that joins the tops of the two legs. Thanks!

Matt,
I will forward your quest to a few who may have what you need.

I would think that it would be relatively easy to get a new axle made at any engineers shop. You may have to forgo the eccentric part, which the later crosslinks didnt have any way.
I will contact the NZ distributor for k2...being an out of the way little place who knows he may have one ;D

"Cliff says we had a lot of those parts and that Dave maybe still has them. That part commonly wore out."
That's the response, Matt. I'll call Dave Monday and see if he can help you out. Or if you'd like I can give you the #. They are in Lenox, Massachusetts. email me direct stp479@aol.com

I managed to replace my broken eccentric rod by using the rod from a friction shock shaft that I had laying around after I upgraded to oil dampers. One end has the right threads in it already, and you have to cut the other end and tap threads into it after cutting it to the right length. The material appears to be the same, and is the correct diameter. The shock was from my 855.
The eccentric bit and j-path adjustment is gone forever that way, but the in-between setting that results seems just fine to me..
..I've ridden it hard for a few years and it hasn't broken yet...

It has been some time- I haven't ridden in forever either- but much of the snow melted this weekend, so maybe if the temp will go above zero (c) for an extended time in the next few weeks, I can find out where to ride in new england..(just moved from atlanta)..
Great new forum machine, or program- whatever you call it..

I can't thank all of you enough - especially Scott, for helping me find the part at Dave's Mean Wheels.
Just in time to enjoy the Spring thaw and the thick mud on the trails by my house!
