Title: Questions
Post by: eastcoastk2 on February 01, 2004, 02:26:32 pm
Is there a particular riding style (XC, DH etc) that this style shock is best suited for?

Also are there any K2 bikes that it will not work with?

Does anyone have a feel for what the final price shoudl be?

Hi there.  This fork is best suited for XC.  Especially fast, twisty singletrack.

I am not sure how the custom paintjob will affect the price but the market value for these forks is about $220-240 USD.

Saw one of these forks go for around $360 last year.  It just depends on how many Carbon Fiber freaks are out there looking for a fork.  For one thing, the fork looks awesome.

You won't find a better steering fork, and if you're a larger rider the added performance stands out even more.

I saw that one go for $360 as well!  Of course, sometimes they go for $175.  The normal range is $220-$240

man, I sure hope this one sets a new record and goes for $400.00!!  [smiley=laughing.gif]
That would sure me make feel better as I broke my left big toe this morning. :'(
at least its not riding season, but I was going to go skiing this weekend, then I wanted to go windsurfing while I was in Florida in two weeks, oh well, I guess thats the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Dennis

With all the money that broken toe is going to save, you should be able to let that fork go really cheap?

well, I am still going to Florida so I won't be saving all that much money.

but anyway, I guess the market will tell what the fork is worth.

Here's to a fast recovery-just remember when it comes to the doctors orders you'll have to "toe the line".....  Bad bad bad!  :)

well, the fork just sold for 217.50 which is actually a bit less than I was  hoping for, but not bad. Esp. when you consider that I paid 600.00 for the Oz frame/fork, so selling the fork pays for slightly more than 1/3 the total cost. the paint job just goes down the drain, I suppose.
but, on the other hand, the rear Spinergy Rev-X I sold went for 380.00, which is prob. about 125.00 more than I paid for it!! (I forget what I paid, but I think it was about 250.00) so, I love ebay!! I've gotten stuff for good prices, and now I've sold stuff for better prices!!

by the way, the only xlink I have left(I had 3 at one point) is an alu. ELT one, with only a couple hundred miles on it, any one care to buy it?

Title: Alum xlink "w/ smart"?
Post by: eastcoastk2 on February 07, 2004, 06:55:12 am
Give me a little more detail and let me know how much.

I really don't need it but I do like the look of the Xlink and my Duke seems a little mushy for my 250 lb frame (me not the evo of course).

eastcoastK2,
what additional detail would you like?
there is a pic of the fork mounted on my Mongoose frame in my gallery at the following address:

It has a few scratches here and there, but nothing that is down to the bare metal.
It is really in good shape overall.
