Hey guys, I'm a newbie.
I have a old 756 and wondered if this newer style Crosslink Carbon will fit?

Will,
Do you mean this auction? If so, I can't see why it wouldn't fit, as long as the steer tube is the right length.

what is you headset size, i heard some pre 1996 proflex bikes had 1" headset size, but not sure how true it is.

that fork will go onto your 756 no problem at all.You have a 1 and 1/8 headset with spacers to accomodate your 1 inch girvin vector. If you still run the vector you will have to invest in a new stem cap waher etc and some new 1 and 1/8 spacers to acheive the critical measyrement, and a new set of headset brarings ,unless you can find a 1 and 1/8 bottom race only.I know this cos i instaled a 97 crosslink on my 756
