Title: looking for a selling price for my 5500C
Post by: StoereVent on January 13, 2004, 08:58:31 pm
Hello everybody,

I would like to buy a new bike. So far so good, but because of my financial situation I would have to sell my current bike. But what would be a right price for it?

It is a 5500 carbon (i believe 1998 ) with a NR2 in front and a NR4 at the rear. HS33 brakes, ceramic rims, SRAM gripshifters and 9.0 rear derailleur, XT in front, raceface Isis, XT hubs. Ok, this is not a very extended specification, but I looking for a first estimate at this moment.

Maybe this is also important: K2 is not a very common brand here in Holland.

Any idea?

Greetings, Jeroen.

Not sure where to start on the price but maybe you could find some for sale on ebay or on a bike sale site to get a idea on where to start. I am sure someone here can give you a good idea but $500 (us) could be close.

be sure to list the bikes' frame size wherever you decide to sell it

Ebay, which I think gives a good range of "realistic" prices for used bikes, would say that your bike is worth more like $700-800 U.S. Maybe a bit more or less, depending on condition. If you sell on eBay, honest, complete descriptions with lots of pictures tend to sell the best. Good luck! Wish I could buy your bike. I've always wanted one of those carbon models! (Can't even afford new brake pads at the moment though!)
