Title: Can I slow Risse Genesis rebound???
Post by: Carbon_Kiwi on November 01, 2003, 08:26:48 am
i have yet to pull this shock apart [is it a difficult procedure?] has anyone had any experience in this dept? like perhaps using a heavier weight oil to slow the rebound characteristics? it's a little to fast for my liking.
anyway - any advice would be much appreciated  :)

If it's like the Astro (and I assume it's actually simpler, if any different), it should be a piece of cake - assuming you have a good vice and a large wrench. There are directions on Risse's website (http://www.risseracing.com) for changing the oil. Make sure you use motorcycle fork oil. Same stuff and WAY cheaper. Maxima actually used to say right on their website (and maybe still do) that their bicycle fork oil was the exact same stuff. Of course, they charged about 4 times as much for smaller bottle of the "bicycle fork oil"... Go figure.
