Any of you folks tried mounting a Cane Creek rear shock on an Evo? I've seen a few good deals on them and was just curious.

I enquired once to cane creek regarding fitting one of there shocks the air sprung and air damped shock cloud nine to my K2 4500,there reply was that they would not recommend it for that application as it would encounter lateral forces that would cause premature wear that would lead to early failier,it was only designed to encounter compression forces,as for any other shocks in there range I don't know how they measure up performance wise.Simon

being such a wide shock I would say the cane creek would add rigidity to the evo's back end, and that is not bad. If you can get a cc for a good price I would do it and experiment with it.
In the evo all shocks suffer from some lateral forces, and all shocks will wear after a while and all will get replaced, sooner or later.
let us know if you do get it
