Title: mIs this a good deal?  Razorback
Post by: bayarearider on September 15, 2003, 07:13:32 am
Well some of you may know, i've been looking for a rear shock replacement for my proflex 3000.  It is going to cost about 220 for a new rear risse.

Some guy in my area is selling a New in the box 2001 RazorBack ( team grassroots  model) for $300.  I am not sure if this razor back is a higherend frame versus my current 3000.  But i am very tempted to buy it, since i can just use many of the parts i have on the 3000 and swap it over to the new frame.  What do you guys think?  Anyone know the exact weight of the two frames?

:)i have a '01 grassroots razor and the k2 deal that year was frame and mega-air fork, along with a k2 team bag, 2 pr socks and team jersey, was for $450. that was too good of a deal to pass up. so $300 is a fair price. my friend has a '98 3000 and the razor is a better bike. it's newer tech, has disc mounts and you can upgrade it to the newer carbon seatstay w/fox pull shock. mba loved it and it's a durable bike.
there are a lot of complete razors out there that are selling below $900.
i don't remember the frame weight but i'm pretty sure it's less than the 3000. my large has discs and beefy wheels and it weighs just over 25 lbs.

Wow frame and fork for $450?  It is the noleen fork right?

this deal does not come with a fork, so i am guessing i will need to invest another 2-300 on a fork.

Dan i just looked at your bike in the gallery, it looks great.  I guess this deal isn't that great, thanks for the input?
