hey guys,
i know i've been down this track before - but can any of you carbon owners [or evo owners i guess] tell me what gearing yr using up front, ie: 22,32,42 etc - along with the width of yr bottom bracket.
i have a 24, 34, 46 up front with a 128mm bb, but it ain't working. it's not shifting up to the 46 without a great deal of trouble and a certain amount of wear on the swingarm pivot location.
hence i'm hardly ever in the 46 [which on occasion lately would be very handy].
i guess i'll go isis/raceface compact drive, 22, 32, 42 but kinda need to know this is gonna work and what width bb to get before i splash out on the $$$.
thanks everyone :)

You should be using a 73mm shell with 113mm spindle, I'm using 22-32-42 chain rings and a raceface B/B on my Oz, works perfect.Simon (K2 Oz standard B/B size as supplied from new 73 x 113)

I have one EVO with a 22-34-44 and one with a 22-32-42. Both work fine, but in both cases I had to really fiddle with the front derraileur position in order to get my shifting dialed in. You have to get both the height and angle just right on the FD for smooth shifting and even minor FD adjustments on the EVO are a major pain.
Try setting the FD a little higher than Shimano recommends and angle the front of the cage ever so slightly inward. Good Luck.

my regular is a 22 32 42 with a 113 x 73 bb - as i recall the 9 speeds spec'd with a 44 or 46 xtr
shifts great when adjusted properly which is usually but i tweak it every now and then just for the sake of tweaking
you may have that 128 set the crank/chainrings out a bit too far and makes it difficult for the front derailler to be used in its most effective range, would throw off the low end of the chain line as well a smidge.
do you have an adjustable bb? you may be able to adjust it a bit but as i recall original specs were for 113's
OP
i think DT's home webpage had specs on most of the bikes but since changing computers, i lost the bookmark - sorry amigo
