Title: Issues with removing BB from 5500 frame?
Post by: Carbon_Angus on June 29, 2014, 09:13:11 am
Hi I'm gradually parting my 5500 frame for a quick sale.

I've heard that there were issues with the BB housing in 5500's? I saw my LBS put mine in over ten years ago and he really torqued it.

I'd rather leave it in for someone else to take out, if it's an issue or take it out if it's not an issue.

Thanks,

Bill

No issues unless you "torque" the whole damn thing out of the frame..........

That's why I don't allow chimpanzee's at LBS's to play with my PRO~FLEX's anymore..................

Remember that the main body of the BB is reverse-threaded. Only the lock-ring is normal-threaded. You have to unscrew the BB by torquing it clockwise.

Thanks for the replies.

The LBS that put it on is taking it off. I could do it, but some things, ya know need to be done by a pro.
