Title: Main Pivot Maintenance
Post by: Nieuportpilot on August 19, 2003, 03:05:02 pm
I have  98 Proflex 4000.  Lately I have noticed some sideways movement as I ride.  It could be the wheel, but on the chance that it is the main pivot, I want to do preventative maintenance before the frame has any problems.  I have read the how to's for this procedure and have followed it thus far.  Today I went to the lbs to buy replacement bushings.  They gave me the needle bearing replacement kit that I believe was installed on 1999 models.  Can the 1998 model be converted to needle bearings rather than bushings, or should I return the parts and order elsewhere?  Thank for helping.
