Title: Buy Girvin Vector 2 Front Suspension Fork legs
Post by: Redliner on May 19, 2013, 10:17:37 am
Hello:
Today, after riding 70km with my 856,I  store it in the roof of my car and passed over a small tree and force to bend the fork legs near the weell. It cracked near the welding where the fork meet the weel.
So my questions is anyone has a pair of Girvin Vector 2 Front Suspension Fork legs to sell?I am from Portugal and need desperated to continue riding it.
Hope that someone has some girvin legs that donīt need.
Best regards...

Zé Diogo

Sorry for your accident.  You should find the parts available on this forum.

Can you post a picture of your bike?  Even damaged Proflex bikes are interesting here.

All I can suggest is keep a look out on EBay as they come up on there quite often.

The easiest fix is to buy a new, sliding-style fork.

Iīll try to weld the alluminium where the legs ties the wheel. But I will look for a new one.
Can anyone tell me if is possible to replace the vector 2 for a complete carbon front suspension of a 957?
After the welding Iīll post again the results.
Thanks.

If it works welding will be the cheapest fix for sure.
And Yes you can put any complete fork on your 856.  The carbon fork from a 957 is a straight swop. All you will have to do is check that the install height hasnt changed, incase it needs more or less shims.
I have carbon 957 forks on three of my bikes. They're excellent forks and thing of beauty.
If all else fails Im sure I have a spare set of Noleens cross links you could buy, however I don't have a shock for them so you would have to locate a Noleens NR2.

Hello:
The welding did worked and itīs already mouted on the bike.I still havenīt tried on the tracks but i believe that turn out to be ok.
But iīll consider to replace for a carbon one.So how much for your, without the shock?
Thanks for all your help.

Great news and well done.
Sorry you misunderstand me. The spare Crosslinks I have are aluminium not carbon. My Carbon ones are all fitted to bikes that I use and I wont be selling those soon.
