I dunno if this is okay to post...but awesome video on the GoPro website
Anybody here use these? My days are long gone (I really never had any) for doing this.

IF... if I were to consume enough legal substances to even contemplate any of that, I wouldn't be able to stand up, much less find the bike.

Now if the question was asked " would a Proflex be up to this sort of riding", I would have to say ...... NO. Well not with Vectors or Crossinks for certain! :D
The question should be " are any of us Proflex riders up to this sort of riding?". I'll be honest and say a NO for me. Awesome vid though.

Those are professional riders. But then there are plenty of amateur riders doing similar stuff but all on some pretty tough bikes. All of my many somersaults were unintentional and fortunately didn't damage the Proflex. My damages were limited to forks, steer tubes, seat post and crank arm due to my "style" at the time of ride fast hit/land hard and limp away.

My motto has always been "If you don't fall off, you're not trying hard enough!" It serves me well in testing my skills and pushing me past my comfort zone. Apart from the bottom bracket in another post, the only real damage I've done is to my self! No surprise there then.
On the flip side if you have a bad ride and just fall off, you can always say you were pushing hard! ;)

roflfmao....my last epic ride, was last summer (it was raining, and hot n humid as hell) and a wipeout took me out of commision for a while... I wiped in a very technical and rocky uphill climb (LOL) and unknowingly ended up in a patch of poison ivy...the very next morning, I was covered with a nasty rash from ankles to waist, even my 'junk' got covered in it lol...needless to say, it was weeks before I could do a damned thing let alone ride :P

the sad part is, i've wanted a GoPro since the first time I was told about 'em and had checked them out....it wouldve taken a great vid that day in the quarry... one o' these days i'll have one gracing my 'Flexes when I'm out on the trail ;)

There's a guy who lives near me who rides a 700c touring bike with saddlebags to work every day. He has two GoPro cameras strapped to his helmet, one pointed forward and the other backward, to provide a visual record in case he gets hit by a car.
I wish the weather where I live were consistent enough for me to consider commuting to work by bike. That would be pretty nice.

Cameras to film road rage and accidents is common place here in UK. They've even had a documentary on tv about it. It's a sad reality that motor vehicle users and cyclist don't get on, especially at rush hour!

I agree with both of your posts... I see a ton of cyclists around where I work driving transit, and 99% can't even follow the rules of the road...here they are supposed to be using the roadway, stopping for stop signs and traffic signals just like a motor vehicle... hell, in Ma. where I lived half my life, kids under the age of 18 were required to wear a helmet..but it wasn't enforced lol... but then, as the saying goes, common sense isn't common and too many peeps have none...cyclists in general (sad but true), pedestrians AND motorists...back in the day, I was an avid runner (track and field), ran w/ a bunch of guys every day...we faced traffic and when someone was near, we'd go to single-file formation....simple, effective and safe... nowadays, you can have runners or bicyclists in large groups, flying down the middle of the road (runners going with the flow of traffic lol) and don't move at all for oncoming vehicles... hell, around 9pm tonight while driving a shuttle bus for the local university, I was forced to wait behind a group of 30 or 40 cyclists taking up the whole lane for approx half a mile.... half of em had no reflective gear, no lights and maybe 10 of them total were wearing a helmet....right down the street, and would not move for motorists coming up behind them. I had also witnessed many motorists going the other way threatening and cussing at them, one person spitting at them as they drove by the other way :P
