Title: Proflex specs and differences
Post by: yagamuffin on February 20, 2012, 05:27:25 am
I was pointed in this direction by someone on retrobike.co.uk

I've done some searching but can't find what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know the differences between the different Proflex models, besides the kit they were specced with. Are they all the same frames?
I'm particuarly looking for info on the 1992 range 752, 862, etc...

Cheers,

Bikepedia has some info. Look under "Bikes" Pull up each year and model.

All 1992 bikes had the same aluminium frames from 552 through to the 962 only difference was the groupset. 852 862 952 962 had an all in one titanium h/bar flexstem combo & 862 962 had rockshox mag 21s fitted.
Only exception was the 550 and below having tange frames.
Oh and only ever seen 1 14" 862 with skinny aluminium frame tubes which was my mates
and he snapped it at the headtube and got it replaced under warranty with an 853.

Perfect, thank you. That's exactly what I wanted to hear  ;D
My 752 frame is now going to get some very special treatment!
