This is my first post, so hello to all.
I have a K2 carbon swingarm that looks like a 757/857/957 type based on the pictures I have seen. (Are all three the same?) I am planning to use it to construct a recumbent bicycle similar to the one I built earlier shown here:
http://carbonbent.bravehost.com/index.html
I hope it's not considered sacrilege on this board to use Proflex parts this way!
So here is my question: What parts does a normal pivot/bushing consist of? The swingarm I have does not include any parts of the pivot, so I do not know what parts are missing.
I also need to find the "seatstay" part that joins to swingarm to the shock. Does anyone have of know where I can find the "seatstay" and pivot parts I need? I have been looking on ebay, but of course all the auctions include parts I don't need (like the frame itself).
Thanks,
Eric

It looks like this may have what you want. Email the seller to check it it includes the pivot parts, it's hard to tell for sure in the photo.

Willie,
Thanks. In fact, it was that ebay auction you pointed out that led to my original question. I wanted to ask the seller if all the necessary parts were included. However, not knowing what all the parts are, I could not be as specific as I wanted to about asking that question. I did in fact ask the seller, but no response so far.
But still, I'm wondering what "all the parts" would consist of.
I'm thinking it would be something like this:
PIVOT
1) axle
2) 2 frame bushing inserts.
3) 2 pinch bolts
4) washers?
5) other?
SEATSTAY
1) Seatstay unit
2) 2 bolts
3) 2 nuts
4) 2 bushings?
Would much appreciate if you or anyone else can share the correct "parts list".
Thanks,
Eric

If you look in the "How Tos" section there are lots of usefull files like this one.

Willie_B,
Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. More parts than I would have guessed, but frankly I kind of expected to be surprised.
Much appreciated.

You could always do this conversion.

We always like to see ways that others use Proflex & K2 parts. Please keep us updated with photos as you can.

That swingarm on Ebay looks like it has all the important parts. In fact the cups and bolt are really hard to find. All of the o-rings and bushes are still available in rebuild kits on Ebay too.
Welcome and post picks.

the 757 had an aluminium swingarm the 857 and 957 were carbon fibre.I think the animal may have had a carbon swingarm as well

Yes, the Beast however had an alum swingarm. The carbon x57 swingarm should fit the Evo well. CarbonAngus has a test ride with one I believe.

The only ones with a carbon swingarm were the 957 and 857. The Animal had the same aluminum swingarm as the Beast.

That is a nice recumbent you have built. Nice use of the Proflex swingarm. If only Bob Girvin could see that.
