Title: Guest access

Hey folks, just a heads up.  I've had a rather large increase in traffic recently, and after some research, it appears to be caused by guest access to the forum, and possibly the photo gallery as well.  I'm not sure what's causing it - it's tough to figure out why people are surfing, or what is leading them here, of course.  The thing is, it causes a fair bit of lag on the server, which would slow things down for the members that actually have accounts.

So for the moment, I've turned off guest access, and we'll see how that affects things over the next while.  If this affects anyone in a bad way, post up and I'll see what I can do.

another forum i frequent has had this..at times there are 1 or two members and up to 35 guests...the norm is maybe 3 or 4 members max and one or two guests....more often its just one or two members.

one of the Ford forums I moderate is pretty wide open so I am always checking the member list for spammers and ban them.  About 99% Chinese selling knockoffs and looking to mine info.
