Title: For Sale Proflex 856.I am in Sydney
Post by: Ed74mnd on July 22, 2003, 02:31:49 pm
Hello forum users,

I have a Proflex 856 I am wishing to sell.

Bought 12 months ago out of the box from a guy who was selling his fathers deceased estate.

Used once off road, otherwise has been a pretty shed ornament.

frame is unscratched, one of the handle bar extnsions has some scratches.

Marzochhi DH3 shocks (needs an oil seal, leaked from receipt of bike)

LX/XT gears etc..

Continental vertical tyres.

I'm not using it, so its up for grabs $990 I think seems fair.

I am in Sydney, Australia.  The bike is at my folks house 1 hour away from my residence so if u r keen give me warning.

This is a genuine sale.

please email me on ed-ho@ihug.com.au.

Call me on 0404 848 774 if you are interested.

I have a photo attached.

Thanks for your consideration, any feedback is also welcome.

Cheers

Ed

Do you know what size the frame is?
What fork is on it? What happened to the Girvin fork? Do you still have it?

If this had been three weeks ago I would have made an offer. Both my 955 and 855 finally died (for the time being anyway) and I got a hold of a Specialized Epic Disk.

Would have loved to still have a proflex running.

Hi,

Zulu:  The fork is a Marzocchi DH3, I am not really sure what size frame it is.. I will check it out.. How do i measure it up?  It does say Mpountain Over Size on the frame too.

I am not sure what happened to the Girvin front,  I bought it essentially as a new frame, the guy who put it together couldnt tell me either.. He was selling his fathers deceased estate..

SammyDog: Theres always room for another one!

To determine the size, measure from center of BB to top of seat post.  With this measurement we can figure out which model it is.

Please do check this out, I'd be interested to know as well.

And maybe I'm a dork, but is the "ono" after the price?  Please advise on currency that the price is listed in.

Thanks!

the ono ussually means "or near offer" and i guess the currency would be Australian Dollars.Go here  (http://www.xe.com/ucc/) for a conversion. If you are not in a hurry surface post will be quite economical

Hi K2biker,

The frame measured 20 inches.

I hope this helps you identify the model 856, Mountain over size?

Thanks Kiwi, for clarifying my use of anacronyms usually found in our classifieds.

The bike has been sold now (non forum - through trading post), so thanks to everyone for your interest.

The new owner was very pleased, she will get miles of use I am sure.

Cheers

Ed
