Finally got the last parts to install my bike rack. Weather is good. Time to ride.

My mate used to have a Mini and we'd fit 2 people and 3 bikes inside it and head off into the Lake District 8) (and that's without a roof rack!). Very versatile little cars.

That's interesting. One of the things stopping me from getting a Mini and throwing a Morspeed 16v head on has been the problem of getting the bike in.
At the moment my bike lives in the back of my pickup so I can seize the odd lunch break and go for a spin in the Esterel, very practical; always ready to roll . I wonder if a mini would be as practical. (even a 150hp Morspeed one's got to use less than my pickup)...

I used to borrow a rack from the LBS I was working for and strap it and 4 bikes on my Alfa and blaze off to Seattle International Raceway for the Wednesday night training races. Major perk there was to clear the track of debris after the races. One lap to clean the track and four to clean the tires on the Alfa. Yup, backwards off the hairpin once....
I'm about to store the bike in the back of my pickup as well. Locking canopy and a blanket should provide security and make it very convenient to get on the bike and run into things. Presently, the bike is buried in my garage amongst the stored household items during construction of the new house.
