Hello everyone,
Im glad to have stumbled upon this forum!
I was going through some old photos and found these.. They where taken in about 1997, at a high school championship race in Hardwood Hills Ontario. I think I placed about 20th / 200 riders..not bad I thought!
I was riding my newly purchased "way big" Proflex 856. I sold the bike about 10 years ago. Last week I tracked the guy I sold it to down and he told me that it was stolen 5 years ago! so it looks like it is gone forever... all I have left is some race number plates, the front hub and stem.. :(
I have started to look for a another one, and have posted in the "wanted section"

I am really looking forwatd to getting another one..any leads would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!,
Mike

you be interested in a way big 756 with noleen crosslink forks, risse rear shock and a box of bits?Nominal value, plus shipping?
-
Man thats tempting!..I actually almost bought a 756 before I got a smoking deal on the 856. Do you have any pics?
I am definitely committed to finding a red way big 856. Regardless of the condition I get it in, it will end up back to stock right down to the ODS shocks, xray 800s, WTB tanwall velociraptors, lx cantilevers and Diacompe levers etc...so the more original the better.

Hmmm, so Way Big 856? You're the fellow with the blue and white stripey shirt aren't you? :D
-
haha..no im the giant in the middle of course! :)

I know where youre coming from but its not costing you anything or depreciating in value. If your anything like me, things go in and out of favour but always do come back around. Youve got alot of memories with that bike and im sure one day you'll take it out for a ride and fall in love with it again.

yep you right....i just have to get me shit together....work lomg hours have motorbike, belong to car club....but i somehow manage to do eff all.......

ha ha you sure we're not related! Ive got two motor bikes on stands, one with a broken cam chain tensioner and the other i started swopping the wheels and never finished. Also in a car club and restoring a car at present. All I seem to do is work but now and then quick ride out puts it all in perspective. I feel your pain. ;)

it's more than a few of us. There is a scooter I picked up at auction to repair, 36 miles on the clock then crashed and stored, two Proflexus in build, and the 64 Fairlane in process but driving. Now burning the house tomorrow and breaking ground for the new house monday.

say what???

err.. wouldnt it be a good idea to build the new house first before you burn the old one!

now where's the fun in that? :D :D :D

Not really. We had thought to remodel until the builder and architect estimated 35k just to put a real foundation under the existing house. Then after further assessment, the existing structure just didn't support a remodel so much as a rebuild from a new foundation. So, we opted for a training burn for my fire department and will break ground tomorrow for the new house. A much better house too. Meanwhile we are looking for a steam vent to plant our refrigerator cartons over.... actually found a condo to rent reasonably here in the tiny town of Ruston.

That does sound like a serious project.
Good luck!

Now I'm doing battle with the gas company re: their unauthorized tee from my line to the neighbor's house. It holds up my project.

Wow, what a bummer.

I'm thinking that $1279. per day for holding up the project and also some kind of charge for the unauthorized easement since 1995. Their own legal dept should wake them up.
