Title: Intro, question about 756
Post by: Joe Remi on January 07, 2011, 10:24:13 am
Hi, I live in Northern California USA. I haven't ridden dirt in a few years. There's a Pro-Flex 756 with a bad rear elastomer available to me for $200. What are your thoughts about the price and condition? It would be for light trail riding..I'm not much of a downhill bomber.

The rear elastomer can be replaced with original material or some replacement stuff that will do nicely.  Also you may find a replacement rear ODS coil and oil shock spring combo depending on the type of rear strut.   How is the front suspension?  In my opinion, 200 bucks is a pretty good deal.  I have paid anywhere from 125 to 275 for proflex Beast/Animals with hydro brakes in good condition and consider it money well spent.

I've heard the term 'ODS' repeatedly, but can't decipher it. What does it mean?

ODS equals Oil Damped Shock.  Just a little user serviceable shock absorber that can be adapted to springs with an oil change and some other hardware.
