Do you guys go through derailer hangers on your evos? I am keeping the local K2 dealer in business with all the derailer hangers I go through. Granted I am a technical rider who loves to find chalenging stuff to play on but I have gone through 5 hangers in the last year.

sounds like you are living up to your screen name ;) ;D

Yes ,still running same one 5 years. [smiley=laughing.gif]

no it's not just you! I just bent my second one trying to ride up a 3" wide length of wood onto a 2' high bench. Made it a couple of times but the back wheel slipped off near the top and the der got a knock. that's the second one in 2 mths but it is due to my lack of balance not weak stuff. the one i just bent was a BETD one from the UK and I reckon it is stronger than the original K2 ones, still it has to give or my XT would be knackered. My machine shop buddy should have straightened it back in time for tomorrows knarly ride [smiley=nod.gif]

Yep, better the hanger than the derailleur. The last time the hanger bent, the XT bent too [smiley=furious.gif]

Trashed hangers are the nature of technical riding...I'd rather the hanger [smiley=diaper.gif]the bed than the derailleur.

often a bent hanger is an easy fix, managed to straighten my latest mess out without taking it off the bike!
