Ouch! Details, youtube video? Epic fail video? Fifteen day disabled list followed by a AAA rehab assignment? Hope he isn't old like me, so heals slowly if at all.

Thankfully not too serious.
Story in brief - did a late night ride 2 weeks ago, coming down a hill (on road), not that fast, and a fox ran out in front of me and under the front wheel. I couldn't avoid it and went straight over the handlebars and skidded down the road on my shoulder. Felt pretty winded but picked myself up after a few minutes. My mate was with me and we managed to cycle the remaining few miles back to the car. Something didn't feel right though (apart from various road rashes) and so off to hospital. By now it's 2am. Anyway, broken ribs are diagnosed. Patched up and sent home at 4.30am. Worst bit is my treasured Girvin shirt is torn to shreads. Hope to patch it up, though may be beyond this.

Have a speedy healing.
The SHIRT, OMG!!! It will never be the same! First thing I always heard when I was a fire medic was...... "My bike....how is my bike?" Fortunately with my LBS experience, I could assess the bike too.
I know how it sucks to ride with broken ribs. Not too bad until you have to breathe in or out.

Dude your shirt mate, forget your ribs they'll heal the SHIRT!!!!
Hope you are nursing those wounds with plenty of liquid intake. I find Chivers or Laphroig helps heaps.

Hope you heal quickly. A few questions though...was the fox shocked :D How did the bike fare?
Mind the laughing and sneezes the best you can with broken ribs.

No idea how the fox fared - I had other issues on my plate :o
The bike is fine - just a few chips in the paint work - amazing really.
Yes I've told everybody around me at work they have to be miserable :D Mind you, working in a GP surgery is no place for any sort of sympathy where injuries are concerned :D

That's terrible news... time is a great healer though...
.....but I think the Girvin shirt is beyond help :( :D
As for your ribs, they'll probably take many weeks before you are 100%, so its the perfect opportunity to hunt down a replacement shirt... and maybe go hunting for that damn fox too :D

Best wishes for a speedy recovery! I know the feeling a bit after going down on my road bike last May...sadly my right shoulder hasn't been the same since, and the doctor suspects that I bruised the rotator cuff. Hopefully you have better luck!

OUCH..Nice work orange! Proper battle scars to impress around the camp fire ;)
Get better soon and dont worry about the shirt. You'll be amazed what a needle and thread can do. Maybe stich on some body armour ;D

A nice carbon fiber weave patch would look nice on the shirt...

I'd need a fairly large patch for my bald spot as you can see :D
