Title: Off Topic---OMG! I need a break.
Post by: shovelon on June 04, 2010, 08:35:43 am
Man I can't see straight.

Is it just me, or does life enter the fast lane the older you get?  It is not that it takes longer to process things, just more to process.

I have usually been able to get out and ride every other day, now it seems only weekends. And then I have some other things crowding that.

Energy is not the problem, but I lose patience faster.  ::) ::) ::)

Am I becoming a "Grumpy Old Man"?

Terry, I'm amazed that you find the time to ride so much! Only when I ride to work can I claim any regular saddle time...these days I'm lucky to put on 20 miles every 2 weeks. Both my wife and I work, and we have 2 daughters and a dog, so it's obvious why things are hectic. If it's any consolation, if babies are the culprit they grow and become more self-sufficient by the day.

I just had my break, 230 miles on the XP-X from Lincoln to London, following the Eleanor Crosses route (google it)
75 miles on day 1, then a 95 mile day 2 and a mere 45 into London on day 3, but then the train home stopped at Milton Keynes and so I had to cycle the 15 miles home ( via a couple of pubs!)
Man am I tired!
It was a serious wake up call for the LEJoG in the Autumn!
I need to get in some more miles training!

and there's just never enough hours in the day ( see posting time!)

(and I do this for enjoyment?)

"Feeling grumpy 'is good for you' "

HaHa! Looks like I am going to be working Saturdays for a while again. I should be in fine shape pretty soon. :D

Good for you Colin! Yes, it is hard to find time to train.

Don't worry, soon you'll be old and it'll be time to retire. Then you can sit in a rocking chair on your front porch for the rest of your days.

Have patience, it will all be over soon enough.
