Anyone know if the shock (shock length, etc.) is the same for a medium disco frame and a large disco frame.
Thanks

That would be a yes. 8.25 inches.

Thanks Terry. Did the shock lengths ever vary or were all size changes contained in the frame/swingarm?
I have a chance at buying a medium disco frame for a good price, but of course I mostly want the rear shock.

Whats so special with the rear shock?????

Nothing real special, just want to know if there were any differences.

As far as I know, all the Evo style frames used 8.25 i2i shocks. But I prefer the Swinger style airshocks with platform damping. No more overdamped Noleen shocks to overcome bobbing.

Have you fitted a swinger to an Evo? Anyone else know if a swinger will fit?

I posted because I have a few of the stock Noleen shocks sitting around.....

Hello all,
The Way Big EVO frames also use an 8.25" rear shock. I was able to get an 8.50" Fox Float R from Fox and they warrantied it for use on my 4000. It looks great installed (and raises the rear just a tiny bit, but it doesn't adversely alter the geometry)...but soon after the Fox arrived (ordering process was LOOOOOOOONG with Universal Cycles as the dysfunctional middleman) my repaired Risse Astro 5 arrived from Risse. Soooooo, if anyone is interested in this brand new 2009 Fox Float R tuned for the EVO frames (fastest compression), let me know. It cost me $250, but I'll let it go for a nice discount ($160).
