Title: Any 5000 or 4000 frame failures?
Post by: Thunderchild on October 21, 2009, 07:11:18 pm
Since my 5000 has become my main ride with the Oz having bottom bracket issues, just wondering if anyone has had or heard of a 5000 or 4000 (square down tube) crack, fail, or other frame problem.

Nope. Bought my 4000 in January '98 and its still as good as it was the day I collected it. Excellent bike! 8)

No problems on my 4000se
I've ridden it for 5 years since 2004 and it had a busy life before then.

Only "frame problem" I have is that my Thule rack won't hold the square down tube!  >:(

I bought my 4000 new in Fall of 99, rode it as a single source for 10 years without a single frame issue.  It's now my secondary FS setup, so it doesn't get out much now.

Just break out the Dremel tool out and modify that down tube.... ;D

my carbon proflex is buggered as well at the bottom bracket.  I think a weekend combination of singlepseeding and jumping didn't help.

Anyone know how to fix it?
