Title: how to clean a carbon fiber frame?
Post by: 4500c on July 13, 2003, 06:19:06 am
I bought a used 98 4500c a couple months ago. I'm wondering now what's the best way to clean the frame. Do you use wax on it, or armorall or anything at all?

thanks

I clean my 4500 with warm soapy water and rinse well, when its dry I carefully spray it with WD40 and then buff it over with a soft rag, works for me, you can see the results in my gallery.Simon  [smiley=nod.gif]

Careful with the WD 40-it's a powerful insecticide so I can only imagine its affect on us-also it's a good solvent but our carbon epoxies must be impervious to the chemical.  BTW it does a good job of shedding trail muck....

Didn't know that about good o'l WD40 so now not only does it polish up the frame right nice I can use it to sort ot those bl**dy ants in the garden while I'm buffing up my bike. Thanks [smiley=laughing.gif]
