What can i get to replace my ods rear shock that snapped today? It broke at the end of the thread going into the cone that seats into the swinging arm. Also I still have the old elastomer set up can you still get new elastomers to replace the rock hard ones?
-
You can get new elastomers at Rapid Descent (http://www.rapiddescentscotland.co.uk/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=4&MMN_position=7:7).
Shocks turn up now and then on eBay and there are a few aftermarket shocks like Risse that will drop straight in.
I ended up building a mount on my 955 so I can put in a normal shock. I'm running a Float R at the moment and have found the bike workls better without a pedal platform built into the shock.

I was going to produce a kit not unlike what sammy has there for the x56 and x57 bikes to allow RP2's and RP23's to be retrofitted to proflexes. if anyone thinks its useful then I'll go ahead with it.

I know I would have been interested. Depending on cost I would probably still be interested in one for my 855.

Go for it!
What shock lenght would you advise?

I am interested in knowing which bike the Fox float R was from. ProPedal and even dampening are tuned for leverage ratios are they not? I know dampening is adjustable (and Propedal on RP23, RP3), but... that range of adjustability may not be enough for differing leverage ratios of different bike designs.

The shock was bought as an aftermarket unit. My old man bought it intending to use it in his old Mongoose NX. Before he put it in he decided to get a new bike so I bought the shock.
It just turned out that it had the perfect eye to eye measurement for what I was doing.
The shock performs really well, much better than a Risse I used to have and a lot better than the original elastomers.

Where are you?

Hint to all? put a rough location in your profile to help people help you.

Hi,
In that case, I can sell you a BRAND NEW ODS rear shock!
PM me with your email and I'll get you the details.
and I expect Callum (RDS) will be able to sell you a COR spring replacment kit instead of the MCU's - (highly recommended!)

Id be up for two of them. Ive just fitted a Risse Asto 5 to my 857 and cant believe the difference it has made over the old noleen unit. I too suspect that an even more modern shock would be better again.

Think i am being a bit dumb! its an girvin ods with spring (yellow) on the front and a Noleen NR2 on the rear. Does this ods have a spring or elastomers on it?
