Anyone got any experience of truing 3 spoke carbon SPIN wheels?
I've got a slight wobble on my set and I'd love to cure it for a road trip to Paris this Autumn!

:D
Pretty much what I thought - there's not much you can do... but I may be wrong.

I can relate to the desire to fine tune things the above way. :'(

Funny, That's what the bike shop said,........... "Big Hammer"
Actually, looking a bit closer, it might be the front wheel bearing has a bit of play in it.
Anyone got any experience of maintaining/changing the wheel bearings on these?

Werent the bearings on those wheels press-fit? Decent bearing company might be able to help... ?
Update... found this... http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx?p=showsearchforpage&bc=SK&type=K&cat=rccrossrefguide&pg=9&mfr=214 - seems to be replacement bearings for the spins.

Thanks, but they're SPIN wheels not SPINERGY ( I've got a set of Rev X ROKS as well!)
i.e. the 3 solid spoked ones.......

Any clues?

This is a very old school "rumored" way of truing mag wheels (from the U.S.), rumored for plastic/fiberglass but it may just work for carbon/composite as well, same principle...
Find a large enough, and very cold freezer...leave in until really really cold ;-)
Of course the scientific principle is that cold molecules condense to their smallest possible configuration, so in the case of a wheel (round object) they would theoretically pull themselves into the closest possible alignment. May want to check on extreme temperature effects on the material before you decide how cold to let it get.
my email is orchid5683@hotmail.com
I would love to hear if it works for you...hope it helps!

assuming it is of even density?

Heard of the freezer trick when i was a kid..Apparently it worked on skyway mags (bmx)..
Never got to try it as i broke mine before they got the chance to buckle. >:(
Dont know if it will work with carbon!
