Title: What lube for crosslink pivots?
Post by: seannicknick on June 09, 2009, 04:18:14 am
Hi guys,

Just wondering what type of lubricant you use on the pivots of crosslink expert forks?? I seem to remember something called "k2 goo"? What would be a good substitute for this or what has worked for you?

cheers

Yeh, "K2 Goo" was the OEM part and comes with RK0xx kits.
I use White Lithium Bearing grease.
You can then see wether it is still there and how mucky it is at regular services.

girvin-gooooooooooooooooooo

synthetic bearing grease is fine

i use slick honey for the cross pivots and the strut pivots, "slippery" and not too much torque on those.

the main bearings (quad rings) get whatever goo i have leftover or a synthetic grease.

I believe Girvin Goo was a Teflon based grease, so a similar product should be fine.

I use Permatex SuperLube synthetic grease with teflon. I comes in a tub, tube, or aerosol for those lazy days.
